Today we are introducing the OddMan desktop app, and with it, Ask OddMan.
In the true spirit of sports science, we set out to build a lab that brings the latest AI to the way people participate and contribute to the game.
We looked at what is available today and we believe something better can be built, something familiar to the process of analysis and yet conveniently within reach. Ask OddMan is the first step on that path.
It is also the start of something larger. Every chart, brief, and small app you create with Ask OddMan is a first look at where OddMan is headed. A place where you do not just get answers about the game, you build with them.
Meet Ask OddMan
Ask OddMan is a private, always-on partner for sports research. Ask it about a storyline, a player, or a stat and it comes back with an answer grounded in live stats and narratives, ready to turn into something visual.
We see it as leverage for your own judgment, never a replacement for it.
Four ways to work
Not every question calls for the same kind of help, so Ask OddMan lets you choose how it works with you.
Ask is for free-form conversation. It talks the question through with you, without building, planning, or changing anything.
Agent is for questions, comparisons, and new visual output. It answers, researches, runs the numbers, and builds a new interactive artifact.
Plan is for work too big or too ambiguous for one turn. It thinks the work through and writes a plan, then builds it when you say go.
Design is for iterating on something that already exists. It refines an artifact you already have, in your chosen theme.
Build artifacts, not just answers
The moment we are most excited about is when an answer becomes something you can use.
Ask OddMan can turn a question into an artifact: an interactive chart, a written brief, a matchup tool, a small app you can click through.
It appears right beside the conversation, live and ready to explore.
Artifacts are made to keep. Each one is saved to your Artifacts library, where you can search everything you have made, tell an app from a brief from a chart at a glance, and open any of them in a single click.
From there you can look at the visual and the data behind it side by side, download it, or bring it into a project.
And artifacts are also made to grow. When you want to change one, Ask OddMan refines it in place rather than starting over, and every change is kept as a new version.
Your latest work is always front and center, and earlier versions are still there whenever you want to look back. Drag an artifact back into the conversation and it becomes the starting point for your next idea.
Make it yours with Themes
We believe the things you build should look like yours, not like a template. Themes give every conversation its own visual identity, a named palette of colors, type, and shape that every artifact in that chat follows.
Ask OddMan starts you with four themes:
Midnight, deep navy with white type
Daylight, light surfaces with dark type
Ballpark, field green with a bright lime accent
Contrast, black with gold type and a red accent
From there you can create your own. Pick your colors, choose a font, set how rounded the corners should be, and apply it.
You can even pair one theme for light mode and another for dark. The theme you choose stays visible as you work, so every follow-up keeps the same look instead of drifting from one turn to the next.
Together, artifacts and themes are our first real step toward building on OddMan. Today they help you shape research into something polished. Over time, we hope they become the foundation for creating full apps of your own.
Why the desktop
We believe the best research partner lives where your work already lives.
Most AI agents run in the cloud, in a sandbox far from the files, apps, and tools you actually use, so every piece of context has to be uploaded, copied, or described before they can help.
A desktop agent starts on your side of that gap.
Ask OddMan can work with the files on your machine, and with your permission it can use your computer the way you would, moving between the apps you already rely on to gather what a question needs and put the result where it belongs.
Your work stays close to you, and the agent comes to it rather than the other way around.
It uses the same account as our website, so if you have already signed up, you are ready to go. We chose to launch with one experience done carefully, and we will bring Ask OddMan to more places along the way.
What comes next
This is a first release, and we are early on this journey. Ask OddMan will keep getting sharper, and we would rather it tell you it does not know than guess.
Ask OddMan is also the foundation for everything we build next. Film Room will bring it to video, with a partner that follows the film you are studying. Projects will give longer-running work a home of its own. And the artifacts and themes you create today are the first pieces of a larger building experience, where your research becomes something you can design, publish, and share.

Building Ask OddMan: Part 1
We’re going to spend the next two articles walking through how we’re building Ask OddMan, our AI research partner grounded in live sports data. Not the finished-product version. The actual version, mid-build, with the decisions we made and why we made them.
Give it a shot
Ask OddMan is available now in the OddMan desktop app. Create an account on our website, download the app, and try it out.
We built this for anyone who wants a serious set of tools behind their sports insight, whether you are writing for an audience of ten or working inside an organization.
Sports has always rewarded the people who see the game a little differently. We built Ask OddMan to give them a partner that keeps up.
One that answers the question, shows its work, and turns an idea into something you can keep, share, and build on. This is the first chapter of OddMan, and we are glad you are here for it.
Bring us your hardest questions, tell us honestly what works and what does not, and let’s see what we can build together.
OddMan exists for exactly this kind of work: a research partner for anyone studying the business and science of sports seriously, not just following headlines. Join us to get the same data and analysis layer used to build this piece, so the next question you have about a franchise’s finances, a rule change, or a roster decision doesn’t have to stop where the article does.
